Welcome address and Annual Report

Good evening ladies and gentlemen ,I welcome you all to the 52nd Annual Day  celebrations of our Vidyalaya.


It gives me immense pleasure to welcome the honourable chief guest of the day


 Brig. N.K.Mehta, commandant , AOC centre, Secunderabad and chairman VMC and Mrs. Daisy Mehta. Its an honour to have you amidst us  on this day .

A hearty welcome to  Shri S.M. Saleem , Deputy Commissioner, KVS Hyderabad Region who has always been a pillar of support and  beacon of light to our vidyalaya.

A warm welcome to   KVS (HR) officials ,( Assist. Comm) members of VMC  and the retired  officers  of KVS whose  continuous support and encouragement has constantly guided us to excel in all our endeavours .

Hearty welcome to Smt .Daisy Mehta   whose gracious presence amidst us has made  this evening a special one.

And  the warmest welcome to the parents present here whose undaunted co operation  has always helped us in unfolding the hidden potentials of our students. Welcome to the press people present here.

I feel privileged to present to this august audience the  Annual report of the Vidyalaya for the year 2012 -2013.

 Ours is one of the fortunate schools selected to be the experimental and the testing ground to introduce and implement the outcomes of the latest ongoing research in the field of education. Some of the projects being implemented in our school are

1.  Introduction of e-Class room where one section of  each class is provided with the latest electronic gadgets like LCD Projectors, Computers, MP3’s etc to carry out e-Teaching and Learning.

2.  A project called English Deep Practice Lab, a course designed by Novus STS Talent Technology Solutions of America is being carried out   to enhance the reading skill of the students.

3.  Homework online is yet another project which has been taken up by our school keeping in pace with the techno savy world of today.

Hence,  at KV Picket we strongly believe  that education should not only equip an individual with skills to earn his bread and butter but also focus on human values and ultimately character formation. We aim at nurturing individuals who will create an enlightened, progressive , integrated and a peaceful society.


Agreeing with Joseph Adison’s view “what sculpture is to a block of marble, education is to human soul,” we firmly believe that academic excellence is the touchstone of any educational institution. The brilliant performance of our students, I feel proud to announce, has added yet again, to our resplendent glory.


·         In the class X Board Examinations  the pass percentage was a remarkable 100% with 27 students  of our vidyalya achieving  CGPA ( cumulative grade point average ) of 10.

·         Acknowledging their excellent performance  ,all these 27 students will be receiving  a cash award of Rs. 5000 each on the Republic Day.


·         In  class XII the school achieved 97.17% with a remarkably high qualitative performance.

·         Maintaining the tradition of  excellence ,we have All India KVS Toppers in AISSCE -2012 from Humanities stream.


1.Aishwarya Joshi with 97.2%  stood First

2.Priyanshu Rawat with 93% stood Second, and

3.Marica Isabel Mary with 89.6% stood third.


0.1%Merit Certificates


5 students of our Vidyalaya achieved the distinction of receiving 0.1% merit certificates from CBSE for their excellent performance in AISSCE-2012. These students are: -

·         Piyash Sahay – Science.

·         D.Niyathi Rao- Commerce.

·         Aishwarya Joshi –Humanities.

·         Jai deep PV- Humanities.

·         Priyanshu Rawat-Humanties

 CCA: To ensure all   round development of the personality a number of co curricular activities and competitions were conducted in accordance with the concept of CCE .


2 students of class VIII have qualified to participate in National Mathematics Quiz to be held in connection with National year of Mathematics, at New Delhi on Dec-21. The students are:

1.      Rahul Barman – VIII C

2.      Debasish- VIII A


Two students of our Vidyalaya Ayush Agrawal and Priyanka Sahu of class X participated in 15th KVS JMO – 2012 and got qualified to attend a 10 day Indian National Math’s Olympiad training camp to be held at KV, IIT Chennai from 15-12-2012 to 24-12-2012.



“Sports strips away personality, letting the white bone of character shine through. Sports gives players an opportunity to know and test themselves”.


In fact they  not only play an important role in character formation but also in instilling positive values . The laurels and accolades won in these competitions testify that continuing excellence and team spirit are indeed the watchwords for our sportspersons.

 Achievements in the KVS National Sport meet 2012-13:   

For the year 2012-13, 61 students took part in the KVS National Sports meet.

1.      In swimming   U-19 Kumari U. Srestha of XI (Comm)won 02 Gold medals 400mts Freestyle and 800 mts freestyle events, and also won silver in 4x100 medley relay and bronze medal in 4x100 mts freestyle relay.

Miss Ruparel of class XI won bronze in the 4x100 medley relay and silver medal in 4x100 mts freestyle relay.

2.      In swimming U-14 Master R. Bhavesh of VI won Silver medal 200mts individual in medley  event.

3.      Football U-19 Master Akhilesh and Master Hitesh Kumar won Silver medals.

4.      Miss. Shilpa Kumari of X won Gold in the high jump in the u-17 category.

5.      Miss. Bhavana and Miss Tanya won bronze medals in the team events in lawn tennis.

6.      KV Picket U-19 Basketball girl’s team is going to representing  KVS Hyderabad region in the Inter KV Tournament-2012 which will is being  conducted from the 17th  Dec -20th Dec 2012 at Jabalpur.  


Kendriya Vidyalaya, Picket also encourages students to participate in the outside competitions in sports and games. Students of KV Picket brought laurels to the Vidyalaya in various sports and games.

·         Master R. Bhavesh of VI won bronze medal in under 11 200 mts individual medley held at Rajkot from 1-6-12 to 4-6-12, representing AP State Swimming Association.

·         HYDERABAD DISTRICT SKATING CHAMPIONSHIP – The below mentioned students of KV Picket participated and won medal in the above mentioned Championship.

·         Master. Rigved of X class won a gold medal and a silver medal in u-14 skating,

·         Master.Vishesh of VIII class won a gold medal and 0a bronze medal in u-12 skating and

·         Kumari. Manvi of VII won a gold medal, a silver medal and a  bronze medal in u-12 skating

·         In Handball 4 students of KV Picket   represented  Hyderabad district.

·         Master. T E Anuj Kumar, N Sharath Kumar, G. Sai Nitesh represented NCC Hyderabad ground in Subroto Cup held at Kolkata from 22-7-12 to 31-7-12.



Five  students of our vidyalaya were selected to represent KVS in the SGFI Sportsmeet for the year 2012-13.

1. U. Srestha – XI (U-19 swimming)

2. R. Bhavesh – VI (U-14 swimming)

3. Shilpa Kumari – X (U-17 Athletics)

4. Shravani Veena – IX (U-17 Badminton)

5. Manushi Gupta – VII D (U-14 Basket Ball)


CELEBRATIONS OF National  Mathematics Year  2012

As the year 2012 has been declared as the national Mathematics Year (NMY) by the Govt. of India to commemorate the 125th Birth Anniversary of the Great Mathematician Srinivasa Ramanujam. Many activities and competitions were conducted in our vidyalaya .

·         Two students  of our school Rahul - VIIIC & Debashish, VIII-A, have been selected to participate in the National Level Math Quiz Competition to be held at New Delhi on 22-12-2012.



 The school  organized  Social Science and National Integration camp and Science Exhibition at the Vidyalaya level . Many models and exhibits were selected for Regional and National levels. 

In this competition :

 Kum.Priyanka Sahu of class X D bagged 3rd position in cluster level English Debate 

 Kum. Amlina Priya darshini of class   VIIIB   bagged 1st position in the cluster level Hindi Debate.



 We have National Cadet Corps (NCC)-Army and Air wings. Air wing for   Juniors and Army wing for seniors.  with  100 cadets enrolled for ’A’ certificate , 71 students enrolled for  “B”certificate and 95  for ‘C’ certificate .


National Science congress:The school hosted  Regional level National childrens Science Congress.The theme  for this year was Energy- explore,harness and conserve. Two projects from senior group and one junior group were selected to represent the Vidyalaya at National level held at KV begumpet.


11th Conference of the parties (COP 11) : Childrens’ conference on Biodiversity.Two students of our Vidyalaya Mas. Akhilesh  from IX A and Kum. D.S. Maitri from IX D participated in COP11 held in Hyderabad from 15th to 19th Oct 2012. As a part of COP 11 Childrens’conference on Biodiversity was organized and Mas Akhilesh of class IX A represented  the country Nepal and was selected to the final round.



A focused approach, diligence, perseverance and a positive attitude has always enabled them to scale the lofty heights of success in all their endeavors. The achievements of  two eminent teachers bear a testimony to the Italian proverb, “Trifles make perfection, but perfection is no trifle.”


·         Smt .Gowri, Principal,  KV Picket i.e was given  KVS National Incentive Award  2012 acknowledging the efforts  made  to ensure congenial learning atmosphere in the Vidyalaya and   as an inspiring team leader.

·         Smt. M. R. Jayanthi, Head mistress. KV Picket has been selected for KVS Regional Incentive Award 2012 for dedication and commitment for the effective implementation of CMP and strengthening of Primary education.


·         Two teachers of KV, Picket Mr. K. Venkateswarlu, PGT ( Phy) and Mrs K. S. Rajeswari (PRT) received “ The Best Science Teachers Award “ for their relentless efforts in developing scientific attitude among the students.

Independence Day parades: The students of our Vidyalaya participate in the Republic day and Independence day Parade  organized by the Govt. of Andhra Pradesh  every  year.

I place on record my sincere thanks to our esteemed Chairman, Brig. N. K. Mehta and Mrs Daisy Mehta whose expertise and support had been our guiding light in all our endeavours.

 My heartfelt thanks to Sri. S.M. Saleem,Deputy commissioner ,KVS HR .It is due to his dynamic leadership and guidance that the school has been able to scale the heights of success and consistently strives to be Better & Better.I extend my special thanks to the press people for being present here .


I thank all the members of VMC and retired officers of KVS Alumni Association for their consistent support and their gracious presence  here on our Annual Day.


The parent body has been a pillar of strength in all our endeavors. My sincere thanks to them for their continuous support & encouragement.


All these achievements and activities highlighted in the report have been possible due to the diligence and untiring efforts of the staff and students of our school. I owe a very special thanks to all of them.
